Custom Applicator

JOB SUMMARY:

Custom Applicators are responsible for the operation of spray equipment and the effective application of crop protection products and fertilizers.

Custom Applicators also operate and maintain a variety of equipment and vehicles including sprayers, spreaders, and trucks. They must maintain accurate application records and communicate with customers. They will perform their responsibilities in a manner that will optimize and/or improve the company’s efficiency, help achieve the company’s mission and goals, and provide outstanding customer service. The custom applicator will maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the entire company and a favorable image of the company.

JOB DUTIES:

• Operate and maintain all chemical and fertilizer equipment and vehicles.

• Mix, load and apply crop protection products and fertilizers.

• Apply products at applicable rates and calibrate equipment.

• Maintain application/spray records.

• Clean and maintain equipment.

• Computer and data entry skills.

• Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

• Ability to educate customers on products being applied to fields, techniques utilized, and how you can continue to support them with products and services.

• Handle and deliver bulk and packaged products and able to lift 50+ pounds.

• Good working knowledge of MSDS information on the chemicals and fertilizer being handled.

• Good working knowledge of seeds, chemicals, and fertilizer products to make informed decisions.

• Current operational knowledge of applicable OSHA, State, EPA, and DOT regulations.

• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Commercial Driver’s License (A).

• Custom Applicator’s License.

• 3+ years spraying experience.

• Clean driving record.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• A high school degree or GED

COMPENSATION:

Compensation includes a competitive base and aggressive performance incentive. Compensation for this position may be adjusted to experience and qualifications. Health insurance, 401(k), and life insurance.
